IID's message on the occasion of World Day of Press Freedom
The World Day of Press is honored upon praising great writers with May 3rd having transformed the prolonged and challenging campaign of press forum into manifestation of desires, pains and knowledge and alertness of nations against powerful organizations, autocracy and colonialism in recent centuries.

Although human achievements in vindicating its rights against avaricious ones and power seekers are precious, it should be noted that its continuance and establishment are not possible in the absence of freedom of speech and spreading information, ideas and thoughts.
The Press plays the highest and most precious role in the form of freedom of speech in a way that like a strong spotlight enlighten the houses of wealth, power and hypocrisy and make the nations aware of its rights and destiny and this awareness makes true and responsible judgment possible and paves the way for freedom, cooperation of each individual in political forum, especially in the field of progress and development.
Considering that the press has social historical effects, it has a simple definition and that is spreading news, ideas, criticism and suggestion of public in general without existence of unusual limit of powers. The important issue including governmental centralized powers or organizations and circles affecting the social-economical scenes can greatly affect dispute settlement ,unfair competition and healthy and fairy trend of social affairs provided that the spiritual and physical security of responsible people are guaranteed and the information can freely be accessed and is independent from government.
The freedom of press in its all kind having the characteristic of continuous publication and the lasting thereof including written bulletin, books, newsletter, news agencies and internet is the indicator of health and power of democracy and guarantee of continuance and development of justice. Unfortunately, it has come across with some limit and problems in modern world which, despite the variety and broadness of mass media, are seen in different ways; Obstacles like controls going beyond law, the possession of news agencies, self-censor, financial problems, the tendencies and responsibilities of the owners of mass media, giving and taking bribes, murders, arrest and threatening of writers and lack of existance of necessarily professional trainings.
We regret to say that mass media hasn't grown considerably in religious field. Religion can make used of mass media for transferring the message of peace. More regretful point is that many religious mass media have spread violence instead of spreading and publicizing religion which is its main goal.
